The application should reach to the concerned Superintendent of Police of the Districts as well as Police Commissionerate, Bhubaneswar on or before 26.07.2O18 by 5.00 PM. Applications that are incomplete or received after due date will be rejected. Physical Measurement/ Physical Efficiency Tests will be held from 06.08.2018, 7.00 A.M onwards.

Terms and condition of service
The appointment to the posts shall be made initially on contractual basis on consolidated monthly remuneration. The conditions of service and the tenure of the contractual appointment to the posts will be regulated by the Odisha Group C and Group D posts (Contractual Appointment) Rules, 2013 and subsequent Government instructions and amendments thereon.
Examination Fees
All applicants other than those belonging to the SC and ST categories are required to pay Examination Fees of Rs.150/- (Rupees One Hundred Fifty only) in shape of Bank Draft/Postal Order. The Bank Draft/postal Order should be sent in the following address, as applicable to the applicant.
Registration of Name in Employment Exchange
A candidate should have registered his/her name in any one of the Employment Exchanges of the concerned district (for which he/she applies for the post of Civil Constables) before publication of the advertisement for recruitment, A candidate should not register his/her name in more than one Employment Exchange, The Home Guards and Group-D employees working in the Police Department and Ex-Servicemen need not register their names in any Employment Exchange. The candidates belonging to SC / ST applying to any District other than his / her own districts should register their names in the Special Employment Exchange, Bhubaneswar. 6, Age limit The age of the candidates should not be less than 18 years and more than 23 years as on 01,01.2018 (upper age relaxation in case of SC, ST & SEBC candidates and all categories of women candidate is up to 5 years). The age limit for Ex-Servicemen shall be relaxed as per the Government Rules. The Home Guard candidates, who intend to apply for the post of Civil Constables in District/Establishment, should not be more than 28 years of age as on 01,01,2018. Similarly, the candidates belonging to Group D in the Police Department should not be more than 43 years of age as on 01.01.2018. The candidates shall avail only one benefit as indicated above.


Candidate must have passed +2 examinations or equivalent examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha or by any other recognized Board / Council. A candidate should be able to speak, read and write Odia and must have passed odia as one of the subjects in the High School Certificate Examination or an examination in Odla Language equivalent to I\4.E standard, recognized or conducted by the School and Mass Education Department of Government of Odisha.

Other eligibility Criteria

a. A candidate must be of good character,
b. If married, the candidate must not have more than one spouse living.
c. A candidate must be of sound heath, free from organic defects and any physical deformity.
d. A Group-D employee working in Police Department must have completed 5 years of continuous service and have good service record without any major punishment. The applications of Group D employees of Police Department shall be forwarded by the Heads of office.
e. A Home Guard candidate must have completed 3 years of enrolment without any interruption on the date on which the advertisement for recruitment is published and must have undergone the basic course of training for Home Guards, The application of Home Guards shall be forwarded by the Heads of Office.


The candidates are required to produce original certificates of his / her educational qualifications for verification by the Board at any time during the recruitment process. If any candidate fails to produce the required certificates, he/she shall be disqualified and the candidate shall not be allowed to participate in the further recruitment process. Besides, at any point of time, if the Board feels that the candidate does not possess the requisite qualification for the post of Civil Constable in the Districts/Establishments, at that particular point of time, his / her candidature shall be disqualified.
